We are the Board of Directors of Skipjack Heritage, Inc. We desire to preserve the heritage of the Skipjack, other work boats and the entire cultural heritage of the people of the greater Deal Island, area.

As Board Members, we serve out of a love for the area we call home. We serve not to be known but to make known the history, the heritage and the stories about our ancestors and their way of life.

We have seen the fruit of our labor with a new Museum building. Now we have a goal to set up a genealogy center which will allow anyone who has a family connection to the area to come and trace and identify their family roots. We also have a goal to educate the current and future generations so that the history of our waterman’s way of life will not be lost but preserved forever.
